The Euroferrys History

Europa Ferrys, S.A., trade name is EUROFERRYS and they began their maritime activities of passenger, vehicles and load transport in 1999.

From its constitution in 1996, it was thought of offering passengers “quality” in the service, on board the vessels, in the personalised customer service and it was also thought of a clear differentiation of Euroferrys in regards to the performance standards, reigning in the Strait up to that moment.

Euroferrys acquired its first owned vessel in 1999, a high tonnage ferry, named Euroferrys Atlántica. The purchase contract for the vessel, from a Canadian company, was signed at the beginning of the year. Thanks to the collaboration and effort made by great part of the staff, the vessel was refurbished and made ready. This was their first great challenge made reality, thanks to a human team of workers, who already considered Euroferrys as their present and future. From July 1999 their “Euroferrys Atlántica” is operating on the line Algeciras-Tangier-Algeciras, offering an exemplary service in respect of capacities, efficiency and services.
