The Isle of Man Steam Packet History
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is owned by Macquarie
Bank Limited, following the purchase from Montagu Private Equity
in 2005. This acquisition included Steam Packet’s vessels,
buildings, land holdings and other assets. 2005 was a very special
year for The Steam Packet Company as they celebrated their 175th
anniversary as the oldest continuously operating passenger shipping
company in the world!
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Passenger Information
Isle of Man Steam Packet may be able
to make special arrangements to help you if you are disabled in
any way. If you did not inform them when making your booking,
telephone them as soon as possible in advance of your journey.
For those unable to walk, they advise the use of collapsible wheelchairs.
For safety reasons they are obliged to restrict the number of
wheelchairs on any particular sailing.
If you travel in a vehicle and have requested
assistance you should have received with your ticket a 'Passenger
Requires Assistance" sticker. This ticket should be displayed
on your windscreen so that you can be easily identified by their
staff, who will be able to help. You will be asked to switch on
your hazard warning lights so that they may easily identify you.
Arrive well before the latest
check-in time so that the loading officer can call you forward
into a position on the vehicle deck with easy access to the passenger
accommodation.
