About Tallink Ferries
Tallink is a firm operating passenger
vessels, representing the TALLINK trademark. The firm organises
carriage of passengers and cargoon their routes.
They have a total of eleven
vessels that sail under the TALLINK trademark - 5 passenger ferries,
4 high-speed vessels and two cargo vessels.
The newest vessels their fleet are M/S Victoria
I, completed in 2004 and M/S Romantika, in 2002 both by the Finnish
Aker Finnyards company in Rauma. In 2004 the company operated
on the line Tallinn – Stockholm the most presentable ferry
Victoria I with the cost of 150 million EUR. In the beginning
2004 Tallink opened a regular cruise line between Helsinki, Tallinn
and St.-Petersburg. In 2004 the company bought two new fast-speed
vessels to prepare for the situation on the market after extinction
of tax free trade. In the beginning of 2004 Tallink opened in
the centre of Tallinn the first hotel with its name, which is
being operated by Tallink.
In October Tallink Grupp has placed and order
for the construction of the third large ferry even larger than
the M/S Romantika and M/S Victoria I from the Finnish shipbuilding
company Aker Finnyards OY, it’s the largest Tallink’s
ferry with the cost of 165 million EUR which will start operating
in the Baltic Sea in spring 2006.
