About Transmanche Ferries

The Transmanche Ferries company was founded on the initiative of the President of the Conseil Général de la Seine maritime, Charles REVET, he refused to allow the route to disappear after the last private operator wound up their service in 1999. At that time and to increase its profits the operator decided to concentrate operations in one place, consequently eliminating the Dieppe-Newhaven route.

The Transmanche Ferries Assignment

The mission of Transmanche Ferries was to take all steps to ensure that the trade and tourist links between the Seine Maritime and Somme départements and the South of England were preserved and developed.

To achieve their goal the best solution was direct action : the chartering of a first ship then the purchase of a second, since experience had shown that the financial interest of a private company was not compatible with the economic interests and development of a region.

With these two ships, Transmanche Ferries can now offer freight and passenger services every day and all year round.

Transmanche Ferries is publicly owned and must deal with the market, handle competition and, following its start-up period, balance its books.

The Dieppe
The Dieppe has an on-board shop at reception. It offers a range of confectionery, perfume and books. At the front of the ship, you can relax with a drink and look out over the sea. Video films are shown during each crossing. You can take advantage of your trip to do a little reading in a quiet, restful setting. Their self-service catering facility offers a variety of balanced meals.

The ferry is equipped with showers and lavatories, their cabins are just the thing for travellers who want to arrive refreshed. The sea will rock you to sleep during the crossing.

Nos cabines, avec douches et toilettes, contribuent à votre repos. La mer se chargera de bercer vos rêves durant votre traversée.
