Sea France carries more than 3,000
freight vehicles a day on ships that are increasingly better designed
and equipped. With Sea France you get efficiency, security and
a warm welcome: The vehicles are guided, positioned and secured
by Sea France staff on the vehicle deck. Vehicles and goods are
under constant surveillance throughout the crossing with a video
link from the bridge.
Sea France Port Access
Sea France operate out of the Eastern Docks in Dover. The port
accessible via M20/A20 and the M2/A2 motorways. The Eastern Docks
is signposted from both motorways and upon arrival in Dover. If
your load needs customs export clearance you will be have to stop
at Dover Harbour Boards freight clearance facility located in
the Western docks before you can travel onto the SeaFrance Check-in.
Vehicles that need to collect or deliver an unaccompanied trailer
are requested to report to the drivers reception. This is located
behind the check-in plaza in the Eastern Docks.
Calais is served by the A16 and A26
autoroutes which link to the North, South and East of France.
The Port is also accessible from the main town however large freight
vehilcles are requested to stick to the main autoroute. Vehicles
wishing to collect or deliver an unaccompanied trailer are requested
to report to the Freight Bureau.
Sea France Vehicle types
Vehicles of any length can be carried aboard SeaFrance boats.
Under the current rules governing fares, vehicles are currently
classified as follows:
TR1 Up to 6.90m
TR2 7m to 9.90m
TR3 10m to 11.90m
TR4 12m to 14.90m
TR5 15m to 17.90m
TR6 18m and over
