About Stena Line Freight
Stena Line Freight is a main business area within the Stena Line
Group. It is responsible for developing, marketing and selling
the freight services of Stena Line. Their pan-European freight
ferry network of 34 freight-carrying vessels and eighteen routes
makes it Europe's most successful sea freight operation. During
2004 Stena Line Freight handled 1,406,000 freight units and employed
a workforce of 110. The turnover for the year was 3.545 MSEK.

include a one number phone booking service that enables customers
to reserve space on all Stena Line routes just by calling one
number. Modern IT has created new and efficient working methods
and Stena Line Freight offer the following solutions so that their
customers can benefit from these advances in managing transport
related information; Internet-based services (Extranet), Stena
Connect and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) invoicing and booking.
The Stena Line website is a valuable working tool and source of
information. You can find their live timetables and updates about
what is happening on their different routes.
The website also features an Extranet that provides
registered users, with many cost-cutting services; real-time Internet
booking and "Track and Trace", as well as their Statistics
Warehouse which offers you the chance to view your shipment volumes
at a glance, under password-protected access. Stena Connect is
a customer-adapted version of Stena Line Freight's own booking
system. It is easy to install and user-friendly, it gives you
24-hour online access to Stena Line Freight's booking system for
all sailings within their network. Services include Electronic
Data Interchange, a system that allows the quick and secure transfer
of data for booking and invoicing between Stena Line Freight and
its customers. HSS high-speed service vessels
provide ultra quick crossings on key routes and are a big hit
with their freight customers, who have access to a pan-European
network of Stena Line Freight offices. They are staffed by skilled
personnel, each office provides booking and customer support services.
The Stena Line Freight Route Network
Their freight's network coupled with Scandlines amounts to 18
routes to and from Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Wales,
Scotland, Holland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Poland.
Stena Line currently operates 14 routes, Scandlines AB four routes,
(Helsingborg-Helsingör, Trelleborg-Travemünde, Trelleborg-Sassnitz,
Trelleborg-Rostock)
Stena Line Development in 2004
During the last couple of years Stean have seen major developments
at in their Freight. The route network has been strengthened,
the fleet has been enlarged and modernised. And customer support
services have been refined and extended. These improvements represent
a major investment in Europe's freight transportation infrastructure.
